About UBEB

Formation of an Examinaton Board

At the meeting of the Senate of some allied Universities, it was unanimously agreed that an examination board to be known and called Universities Basic Examinations Board (UBEB) be established.

The main objectives of UBEB are to:

  • Provide an alternative as well as an effective opportunity for out-of-school candidates and school drop outs to study as well as to take the examinations of the UBEB for the purposes of being better prepared to gain admission into allied higher educational institutions both within and outside Nigeria towards self fulfillment and national development.

  • Taking cue from past experience of the existing examination bodies and attempt to put in place, appropriate strategies and measures to combat, contain and eliminate the rampant incidence of existing examination malpractices in order to restore public confidence and credibility for public examinations.

  • Enter into agreement with Federal or any State Ministry of Education, recognised Polytechnics\Universities/Institutions for the purpose of conducting tests/examinations for the admissions into tertiary institutions.

Release of examination results is guaranteed 90 days after the last paper to assist candidates in processing admission during on-going admission exercise
